Cast your Android screen from the Google Home app

View content from your Android mobile device on your TV when you cast your Android screen.

This feature is only available on devices running Android 8.0 or later.

Step 1. Get started

  • To help make sure that your Android device has enough available power, turn off its low power mode or battery saver.
  • Important: To allow your Android device to cast its screen, turn on the microphone permission in the Google Play services app.
    1. On your Android device, tap Settings Settings.
    2. Scroll down and tap Apps and then Google Play services and then Permissions.
    3. Find 'Microphone' and then toggle on the permission .

Step 2. Cast your screen from your Android device

  1. Make sure that your mobile phone or tablet is on the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast device.
  2. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  3. Touch and hold the tile of the device that you want to cast your screen to.
  4. Tap Cast my screen  and then Cast screen.

Step 3. Adjust the volume when casting your Android screen

  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. To adjust the volume, tap Media .

Step 4. Stop casting your screen from your Android device

From the Google Home app

  1. Make sure that your mobile phone or tablet is on the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast device.
  2. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  3. Touch and hold your device's tile and then Stop mirroring .
