No cast icon

If you wish to cast a video from the player but don't see the Cast button in the bottom right-hand corner, try these steps:

  1. Make sure your laptop is connected to your Wi-Fi network and your Chromecast is setup and connected to the same network.
  2. Disconnect from a Virtual Private Network (VPN) or proxy server, if applicable. Chromecast cannot communicate with your laptop over these networks.
  3. If you do not see a Chromecast device in the dropdown, that means your device is not on or not set up. See how to setup your Chromecast.
  4. If you do see your Chromecast listed on the Cast extension, you may be trying to view content that cannot be directly played back on In this case, project your browser tab with the Cast.
