Don't see Chromecast listed, set up

If you don't see your Chromecast listed after setup is complete, try these simple steps:

  • Make sure the phone or tablet you're running the Google Home app on is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast device.
  • Close the Google Home app and reopen it.
  • Make sure the Chromecast device is plugged into a wall outlet, not USB power. 
  • Reboot the Wi-Fi router by unplugging it from the power source for ~1 minute and plugging it back in.
  • Reboot the Chromecast device by unplugging it from the power source for ~1 minute and plugging it back in.
  • Perform a factory reset.
