If your audio or video is delayed, drops, or gets out of sync, try these troubleshooting steps.
Troubleshooting steps
Step 1: Check your cable equipment and set up
- Use an “Ultra High Speed” HDMI 2.1 certified cable (sold separately) to connect to your Google TV Streamer.
- Ensure your TV and any connected audio equipment (A/V receiver or soundbar) supports HDMI 2.1.
- If the Google TV Streamer is directly plugged into the TV, make sure your audio system is connected to the TV's e-ARC HDMI port using an HDMI 2.1 cable.
Step 2: Reboot your Google TV Streamer
From Google TV
- At the top right of your TV screen, select All settings .
- Select System Restart.
From the power source
- Unplug the power cable from the streaming device.
- Leave it unplugged for one minute.
- Insert the cable back into the streaming device.
Note: When you unplug Google TV Streamer from the TV’s HDMI port, it doesn’t reboot the device. It must be disconnected from the power source in order to reboot.
Step 3: Check whether your TV, A/V receiver, or soundbar has an audio offset adjustment setting
When delays are constant, you can try to adjust the audio delay settings on your TV, A/V receiver, or soundbar. Check the manufacturer for instructions. Here’s an example from Samsung TV.
Step 4: Check the output format settings
- At the top right of the TV screen, select All settings.
- Select Display & SoundAudio OptionsOutput format.
- In the section Output format, select Automatic to let your system set the best format for you.
Important: If Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital, or PCM stereo is selected, your media equipment (TV, A/V receiver, or soundbar) should also support this format to avoid audio or visual issues.
Step 5: Turn off the “Dialogue enhancement” and “Volume leveler” settings
The Dialogue enhancement and Volume leveler settings can cause audio and video sync issues.
- At the top right of your TV screen, select All settings .
- Select Display & Sound Audio options.
- Turn off Dialogue enhancement and Volume leveler.
