Cannot access Google Classroom on Chromebook when using Family Link.  I have setup my child (under 13) with a Family Link Gmail account. I log her into her chromebook, and I go to Google Classroom.  My daughter has a school google classroom account, as most children do.  Google classroom comes up as her logged in Family Link gmail account. So, the normal approach is to Add an account and access her school account.  But clicking the "use another account" does nothing.  The same actions on the chromebook with a non-Family Link account works. The same actions with my daughters family link account on a smartphone works. Just not on the chromebook with the family link account.  It seems there must be something wrong, since one of the main purpose of the Google Chromebook is for accessing google classroom, and family link is supposed to be how you setup a child on Google. What am i Missing?????

update after speaking with Google Family Link Support: This is apparently a major bug in the software. The Google Chrome books which are designed for google classroom and the google family link just doesn't work.  You can't sign into a chromebook with a family link account and then use your google classroom. I submitted a ticket and will reply if they fix the bug. For now, i abandoned the family link approach and will use MOBICIP.

Thanks get letting us know the outcome.

I suspect what is going on here is that for Classroom, the student would be using a school account which is already managed and protected by the school so further Family Link filtering is arguably not needed, perhaps?

I can clarify our particular situation further, as I feel it is very common.  At school each child gets a school email account, this is what they use in class and how the teacher gives and receives homework.  It is a specific student12434@abcschooldistrict.org At home we have a personal chromebook  for our child to research, complete homework and submit it to their teacher. To turn in their homework they need to log into googleclassroom with their school account.  The student should be able to loginto her chromebook with here family link account and then google classroom with her school account. This used to work under supervised user as well.

Had same issue for my son . I  was able to workaround the issue  by creating  new user  on  our chromebook using  his school id account . He got  access for his school portal and apps.    Another way from his personal account  (supervised login using Google family link), he can  access his  school portal  (with google classroom )login using the school portal URL as bookmark.  Hope this helps!
