My friends Samsung notebook screen is only displaying lines and black spots. She sat on it accidenta

She accidentally sat on the open screen for a few minutes. Now all we have are black spots, a line from the top to the bottom. No ability to see’s the screen or type

I'd definitely suggest a replacement Chromebook.

In the short term might it be possible to plug in a free-standing monitor I wonder?

Does she have files stored locally that need rescuing? If not just go ahead and get a new machine - all GDrive files will just be there in the cloud for her.

The screen can be replaced (check with a repair center that services laptops). Depending on the age of the chromebook, however, she might want to just buy a new one.

Was hoping against hope. How can you replace a screen as this is a tablet and they are connected. Wouldn’t she just need a whole new tablet? She is in her 80s and I just want to tell her what’s best for her. Thanks.
