Chromebook Zoom Meeting not allowing host to share REMOTE (mouse) control 0 Recommended Answers 16 Replies 269 Upvotes

I am a host for Zoom meetings and I need to allow remote mouse control to my clients however chromebook users do not allow me, the host, the option to give remote mouse control to the chrombook user/attendee.  This only happens with chromebook users.  I am able to share remote mouse control with all other Zoom users.  The button to remote mouse share is simply not there after screen is shared.

Hi Therapy Spot,

Is this the case with both the web and Play Store versions of Zoom?

There appears to be some compatibility issues with Zoom as this thread shows:
https://support.google.com/chromebook/thread/32598689?hl=en&msgid=32598689

However, please reach out to Zoom to check OS feature compatibility.

Please keep us posted on this.

I'm experiencing the same problem. I just submitted an inquiry to Zoom. Did you ever get this resolved? If not, what are other ways you are working around this problem?

Yes me too. I have had the same problem. The other day my professor in a zoom meeting told me to share my desktop. I tried but the button of the pop-up window it was greyed out so at the end I couldn't do it

Manuel - it doesn't appear that Zoom has enabled this feature on their Chrome OS or Android clients. You should reach out to Zoom and let them know you are interested in this.

You can try installing the Chrome Remote Desktop to allow someone to control your screen;  but I've seen sporadic issues with that as well.

I found this YouTube video on the work-around for using remote control for chromebooks. The video discusses downloading Chrome Remote Desktop extenstion to your laptop, and the student's laptop. Will explore and test it out this weekend. https://youtu.be/tFc-J67ILoY
