Why does windows get chrome browser updates and ChromeOS devices don't?

Hi, i'm a person who uses chrome for all my web browsing. But why does ChromeOS get no cool looks or features like Chrome versions like windows does? I mean, it looks so much better!

NOTE: Even though it says below i use Android, i actually use a Chromebook. I couldn't find ChromeOS, so I just picked Android.
If you could please kindly let me know, I would appreciate that, thanks.

What Mike said, unless you have an old Chromebook that has passed its automatic update expiration date. At that point, the Chromebook is "stabilized" and receives no more updates. New models of Chromebook receive updates for ten years, but some older models received less and are already past their AUE dates.

Or, if you have a Chromebook managed by your school or business, in which case you get updates according to the Chromebook administrators' policy.

Hi c'est la vie!

To add, the chromeOS updates historically follow the standalone Chrome updates by a week or so - although that is like to change when the new LaCrOs standalone browser becomes the default for chromeOS.

What features or looks do you notice on Chrome for Windows that you don't see on your Chromebook?

Also, let's get more info about your Chromebook, to make sure it's still getting official updates.  Go to your ChromeOS settings, then About ChromeOS>Additional Details, click the Copy button next to Build Details, and paste the information in a response.

Of course you could always get your own personal Chromebook :-)

If you have your own, you can get even more up-to-date by moving to the beta (or dev) channel. I've been running all my Chromebooks on beta since channels became available many years ago and it's always been just as "stable" as the stable channel. Dev is even more future-facing but it can be a bit unstable for a daily driver machine.
