On-screen keyboard won't go away

I have disabled my on-screen keyboard, and ensured my computer is up to date and have done a hard reset. I am using an external USB keyboard, but this problem is present even when I am using the computers keyboard.

My chromebook version is: Version 111.0.5563.100 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Turn off the on-screen keyboard
  • At the bottom right, select the time.
  • Select Settings Accessibility.
  • Under "Keyboard and text input," turn off On-screen keyboard.

Ok here is where we are at your hinge magnet that engages tablet or regular Chromebook needs repair.
Or you can use your mouse which will disengage the tablet mode.

For what it's worth, I'm seeing the onscreen keyboard pop up sometimes on my Pixel Slate, even though the Brydge Bluetooth keyboard is connected.  It's worth sending feedback to Google from within the ChromeOS settings (in About ChromeOS).
