Why suddenly I can't install .apk files?

I have had developer mode active for a while, I used to install .apk files without the need for linux normally but for a while the option to install .apk files from the file manager disappeared and I would like to know if you could help me, thanks.

Hi Fernando Javier Henriquez Rivas

The ability to install APKs in Developer Mode was removed from ChromeOS in version 108.

If your Chromebook has been upgraded to Android 11 (ArcVM) then you can install an APK file from the the right-click menu in the Play Store file manager of your choice..
