Why is my Chromebook stuck on Version 103?

Hi.  I have an older HP Chromebook, which is supposed to update until June of 2024, and it hasn't updated in months.  It's still on version 103.  Yet, when I check for updates, it keeps telling me that my OS is up to date.  Is this a problem?  I don't understand why I haven't gotten any new updates lately.

We are just volunteers here - we don't have that level of insight to know when updates will be released.

For what it's worth, we don't generally see issues with Chrome being "too outdated" until a device has been many years without updates, not just a couple of months.

Bernadette Maywhort,

Please go to Settings > About Chrome OS > Additional Details > Build Details and click the icon with the tool tip that says "Copy build details to clipboard". Then open a new reply here and "Paste" in the reply window. This will provide some important information to aid in troubleshooting your issue.

Okay.  Thanks.  Any idea when the new updates will be released for my version of that particular Chrome OS?

No, but if your device is being held back, it is probably for good reason.

So you have no idea when the new updates will be out then?  I don't want to get locked out of my computer if it gets too outdated...and there's no good answer that I can think of why it would be held back.
