How to press Up/Down Keys in vritual (on-screen) keyboard?

Hi, I am using chromebook tablet without a physical keyboard. I have spent a year to figure out how to press Up/Down keys in the on-screen keyboard without any lucks. Up/Down keys are must-to-have keys when working in Terminal app. I have no ideas why chrome team misses this. Are they not developers?

The terminal environment was never designed with touch screen limited keyboards in mind. Even mouse gestures in a terminal are a bit of an afterthought. Honestly, to work in a terminal environment you really should get yourself a bluetooth keyboard. No developer would even consider a touchscreen for such work.

@lagagnon First, thanks for your reply. But I am a developer and I want to use virtual keyboard for work. Physical keyboard is too heavy to carry. There are some cases I simply want to type some commands while I am travelling etc. Right now, Terminal app in chromebook is even harder to type than Termux in a small android mobile phone. People bought a chromebook and expect that is better than a mobile. But it's not for this case.

Sss20220101,

"Better" is very subjective.

Have you tried installing an Android keyboard from the Play Store? I was able to install "Hacker's Keyboard" on my device, and it has arrow keys on it.
