Why does my Acer Chromebook keep disconnecting from every wifi I try to connect it to? 3 Recommended Answers 78 Replies 502 Upvotes

It will connect for maybe 10 minutes then disconnect. I turn it off and back on and it will do the same thing. Every other device will connect to the internet just fine. I watched a video on youtube that suggested I unplug the wifi card in my computer and plug it back in. When I did this it worked for about 30 minutes and then disconnected. Another thing that has been happening is the wifi settings will automatically turn off by itself and won’t allow me to turn it back on. I don’t know what else to do.

Hi Amarah,

You should contact your place of purchase to discuss your warranty or repair options. (Although you might have voided your warranty by opening up your device.)

If out of warranty, you could take it to a repair shop or ask a competent person to use a YouTube teardown video as a guide to open the Chromebook up and check for loose cable seating etc.

It sounds like your Chromebook has been damaged. Contact your school (or have a parent contact them) and ask them where to get it fixed.
