------------UPDATE----------
So, the same thing happened, and now it says this:
So, what is humble-ray, why is it stopped, and why is it when penguin running, but terminal won't open?
Can anyone help (*sigh*) again?

When I go to click open the Terminal, it doesn't open. That also happens with all the Linux apps. Can someone help me? I have also updated to the latest version that I can.
So, what I did was what you did, but when I did step 5, at the end of listing, it said "Failed to find user" or something like that. So, what I did was I looked at the top, and it said something like, "Is this your devices first time running Lxc? Type in (something about Ubuntu 16.04 (I forgot what it said)) to create a container!"
When I did that, it said something like finished running something, I went to click open Terminal, and it was loading. But, what I did was then restart, and then opened Terminal! It worked! I typed help to list the commands, and it did!

How about if you try to manually start the Linux environment?
Press ctrl + alt + t to open crosh.
Enter vmc list to make sure that the termina VM is found: crosh> vmc list termina Total Size (bytes): 9853304832
Enter vmc start termina to start the VM: crosh> vmc start termina (termina) chronos@localhost ~ $
At the new prompt, enter lxc list to make sure that the penguin container exists: (termina) chronos@localhost ~ $ lxc list +-----------+---------+------+------+------------+-----------+ | NAME | STATE | IPV4 | IPV6 | TYPE | SNAPSHOTS | +-----------+---------+------+------+------------+-----------+ | penguin | STOPPED | | | PERSISTENT | 0 | +-----------+---------+------+------+------------+-----------+
Manually start the penguin container, replacing 'jbowdre' with your username: (termina) chronos@localhost ~ $ run_container.sh --container_name=penguin --user=jbowdre --shell
That should drop you into a shell inside the container, where you can execute GUI apps by typing their name - though opening then from the Launcher still may not work. Take note of any errors encountered along the way to help diagnose the issue.
I'd recommend a reboot after doing that to make sure everything gets shut back down and hopefully you'll then be able to get back up and running.
If that still doesn't work you may need to disable and re-enable the Linux (beta) feature.

Have you tried simply rebooting your Chromebook? That can often help to clear up issues where the Linux features don't start up like they're supposed to.

This might be off the topic a bit but it is still pertains to the general question. When you run
lxc list - after you have started the container the IPV4 IP number is show. is there a way to set this so it is persistent every time you start the container.
The reason for this question is running apache2 web server has issues with the localhost running at port 80, it will run fine using port 8080 and works if you type in the IP address listed from the LXC list command but certain functions really on the IP address staying static. since I am not running the apache2 server in a global environment only used to create websites for testing and database interconnection using PHP programming.
SO far my experience with the Linux Beta in Chrome OS has been positive but still learning the ins and outs of the system setup.
Your tutorial and explanation were spot on and very helpful . Thank you much.
