Updating Firmware Message upon starting Chromebook
3
After upgrade to version 93, I am getting a message that there is Firmware upgrade in progress, do not shut off computer before I can log in to my account. It last for about 5-8 seconds.  I see this now when I start my Chromebook from a full power shutdown.

I never seen this before on any of my Chromebooks and it is only happening on this Chromebook.

Are you saying this message comes up every time you reboot?

It was doing it yesterday and earlier today. I reported the issue this morning. I had not logged during the day as I had appointments and I just logged in--There appears no more problem as I shut down and logged in twice and saw no issue.. Perhaps Google saw my issue and fixed it.

Thanks for the reply

I've had continuous issues with the LAN since my last update to new OS on 10/8/21. The new OS move on 10/8 was an attempt to resolve the firmware message. With the new OS I was constantly bombarded with DNS messages and WI-Fi kept dropping but it was specific to Google LAN. Despite this my home computer had no issues and I could search on Google from my work computer without issue. As of 10/22 the network was dropping me and I was offline constantly. There was an update to Version 94.0.4606.104 available on Friday but I wasn't able to stay connected long enough to download it. I did a hard reset to my router (unplugged all connections and waited for 5 minutes) and this resolved the issue. I suspect all the power washing on 10/8 caused the issues. I also strongly suspect the firmware message was caused by a bug in the OS and there was no legitimate issue with the firmware.
