Unable to login using child account

My son (aged <13) is set up with his own google account using FamilyLink. Everything working fine on his android phone and we can control his account using FamilyLink. We can login fine to his account using a PC browser. Just tried to log into his new Chromebook and it just keeps saying "Sorry, there seems to be a problem. Please try again." We know the password is correct since if you enter the incorrect one it says password incorrect. Also we made sure he has not reached his daily limit so nothing should be blocked from there. Looks like something wrong with his actual account. Any suggestions please.

Support team said it was a common issue with new chromebooks. They then did an initial investigation. Having said they hadn't made any changes it miraculously started working. Must be something not quite right in this whole account set-up process..... Thanks again for your help.

i had the same issue.  The webchat person advised me to update the OS via "About Chrome OS" and that seemed to do the trick not sure if anything was done in the background as well though.

We just had the same problem and the About Chrome OS worked for us as well!

my OS is up to date and I still have the problem. so frustrating. Xmas day and i cant give my 7 year old daughter a safe chromebook to use.
