Future file system support?

It would be nice if ext3, ext4, btrfs, and ZFS file system support could be added to ChromeOS. Or allow the Linux container to be able to bless the device with one of the aforementioned file systems. As I have had issues using git on n exFAT and NTFS file systems.

This forum is run by volunteer users who are not Google employees or contractors. Complaints, feature requests, or bug reports will not be seen by Google unless you use the proper process.

When a problem occurs, immediately open a Feedback form. Provide a detailed description of the problem - including step-by-step directions about how to reproduce the problem. If your problem can't be reproduced, it can't be fixed.

You can get to the feedback form by using ‘Report an issue...’ in the Help section of the Chrome menu (3 vertical dots in the upper right corner of the browser). Or, press the alt+shift+i keyboard shortcut. Another way is to press the power button for 1 second - a menu box will pop up with Feedback as an option.

If you have a complaint or feature request use the same form. Provide details and explain why this is important to you.

The report goes directly to the Google development team, who review each feedback report. Note that they will not reply unless they need you to provide more information.

You can also file a bug report. Go to https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/list and click the "New Issue" button. Those reports require detailed technical data and are not for general complaints.

For more information about how the feedback and bug system works, read this document from the Google development team.

Hi Jim, is there a link to an online document on how to access an ext4 file system from ChromeOS and its Linux container?
All that I know is that I can format an external device using the Files app, and then read/write it. I don't use Linux much.
