How to get Chrome Goodies for your Chromebook

Which offers are available on each Chromebook?
  • Google Drive storage: All Chromebooks
  • Google Play Music: All Chromebooks. Offer valid through January 31, 2016, where available.
  • Gogo in-air passes (US only): All Chromebooks

Note: The Cr-48, Acer AC700, and Samsung Chromebook Series 5 are not eligible for these offers.

How can I check to see if I can still redeem the offer?

In general, visit from an eligible Chromebook. For Gogo, you have to be on a Gogo-enabled flight to check.

How soon should I redeem my offers?

For new Chromebooks activated after August 1, 2014, you have 180 days to redeem the offers following the date you first sign in to your Chromebook. Chromebooks activated before August 1, 2014 have 60 days to redeem the offer following the date you first sign in. If the offers aren't claimed within these timeframes, they expire immediately. This 60-day window does not apply to the Samsung Chromebook Series 3, Samsung Chromebook Series 5 550, Samsung Chromebook, Acer AC700, Acer Chromebook C710, Chromebook Pixel, Lenovo Thinkpad X131e Chromebook, or HP Pavilion 14 Chromebook.

Why can't I redeem my offers?

There are a number of reasons your offer might not be redeemed.

First, try the eligibility tool. You'll see why you can't redeem the offer and any troubleshooting steps.

If you're still having issues, make sure you're:

  • running the latest version of Chrome OS (Go to chrome://help to find out).
  • connected to the Internet.
  • logged in and not using an incognito window or Guest mode.
  • visiting on an eligible Chromebook.
  • trying to redeem the offers within 180 days after you created your first account.

If you've done all of that, then it could be one of these rarer issues:

  • If you see the error message, "The offer has already been redeemed on your Chrome device," that means someone has already redeemed the offer on your Chromebook.
  • If you see the error message, "The offer has already been redeemed by your Google account," that means your Google account has already redeemed the offer.
  • The redemption server may be down temporarily. Please try again later.
  • If you are trying to redeem from a Chromebook Pixel, make sure your resolution is set to the default resolution. Press Ctrl + Shift + 0 to do this.
  • If you are trying to redeem while connected to an external monitor, please unplug the external monitor while you try to redeem the offer.

Can I apply these offers to another Google account?

No. All offers are non-transferable. Offers are credited to the Google account that is logged in at the time of redemption.

I purchased multiple Chromebooks. Can I redeem these offers multiple times?

You can redeem the Gogo offer once per Chromebook.

You can redeem Drive and Music offers once per Chromebook or once per Google Account. That means that if you have multiple Chromebooks, you can redeem the offer once on each Chromebook when you log in with a different Google Account.

Can enterprise customers redeem offers?

Yes. Here are some guidelines if you manage Chromebooks at work or school:

  1. Which devices are eligible for this promotion?

    All devices listed above.

  2. We just bought thousands of Chromebooks last year. Why are those devices not eligible for all offers?

    Certain devices are not eligible for certain offers because they were manufactured before certain offers were available. The redemption mechanism for this offer is built into the hardware, and it cannot be added after a device is manufactured.

  3. When will my users see this offer?

    This offer is visible from Chrome OS version 23 onwards.

  4. How will my enterprise users see this offer?

    This offer will appear in up to three places: in the Chrome OS Getting Started app, the Files app, and on the Chrome website.

  5. Since our organization has paid for the devices, how can we ensure that users do not login with their consumer account and redeem the storage for their personal use?

    This is designed to be a consumer offer and, therefore, is available to any Google account on the device. However, if you want to ensure that your users can only redeem the offer with your organization’s domain accounts, then please ensure that (1) your devices are enrolled to your domain and (2) you have used the user whitelist feature so that users cannot login with their personal (e.g. accounts.

  6. Can I transfer the storage to other users in my domain or pool the storage?

    No. The offers can be redeemed once per machine or once per Google account, whichever comes first.

  7. Individual Storage is disabled in my Google Apps Control Panel. Can the Google Drive offer still be redeemed?

    Yes, the user would still be able to redeem the offer, however it's targeted towards consumer users and, therefore, not supported by Google Enterprise support teams.

  8. Docs & Drive are disabled in my Google Apps Control Panel. Can the Google Drive offer still be redeemed?


  9. How can I prevent users in my domain from redeeming this offer?

    If your domain disables Google Drive, then your users will not be able to redeem this offer.

    Keep in mind that this offer does not change the Drive feature set at all. Users that redeem the offer will simply get more storage at no additional cost. After two years, all of your files will remain in Drive and you can access them whenever you want at no additional charge. You will not be able to add additional files unless you buy more storage at

  10. If I have any issue with this offer, can I call Enterprise Support?

    These offers are designed to be consumer offers and, therefore, are available to any Google account on the device. The Enterprise support teams will not be able to change transfer storage, change quota amounts, or answer questions related to these offers.

    However, if you run into issues with your use of Chrome OS or Google Drive outside of this offer, you can report those issues like normal.

How long can I use the Google Drive offer once I redeem it?

For most devices you'll have storage for 2 years, starting on the date you redeem the offer. For the Chromebook Pixel, you'll have your storage for 3 years.

What happens to my files on Google Drive when the offer ends?

All of your files will remain in Drive and you can access, download, or share them whenever you want. You won't be able to add additional files unless you buy more storage at

Google Play Music offer

How long can I use the Google Play Music offer once I redeem it?

You'll get a 60-day free trial, then it's $9.99 per month after that.

What happens when the offer ends?

Your 60-day trial will automatically switch to monthly billing unless you cancel. To manage your subscription settings, visit Play Music settings.

I have already tried Play Music. Why can’t I redeem this offer?

If you’ve ever tried a free trial for Google Play Music, you are not eligible for this offer. If you’ve never tried a free trial and still cannot redeem, please contact us.

Has Google Play Music launched in my country?

Here’s the full list of supported countries. The offer can only be redeemed in these countries.

Gogo offer

How long is the Gogo offer valid?

Your 12 free passes can be used on continental US flights up to 12 months from redemption or until December 31, 2015, whichever comes first.

How can I use the the free in-flight Internet passes?

Simply connect to the “gogoinflight” WiFi network on any Gogo operated flight within the US. Open your browser and follow the instructions on the screen.

On which flights can I use free WiFi from Gogo?

The offer works on a number of domestic US flights. Check out the list of participating airlines.

Do I have to use multiple free internet sessions if I have a connection flight?

Yes, you must use a free WiFi pass on each flight.

What if I already have a Gogo subscription?

No problem, you can save your free sessions for a subsequent flight. Once you connect to the “gogoinflight” WiFi network and see the offer page in your browser, simply close it and choose to use your subscription.
