Change Chrome languages & translate webpages

You can change the language Chrome uses and have Chrome translate webpages for you.

Translate webpages in Chrome

To read pages in a language you don't understand, you can use Chrome to translate the page.

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app Chrome.
  2. Go to a webpage written in another language.
  3. At the bottom, select the language you want to translate to.
    • To change the default language, tap More More and then More languages and select the language.
  4. Chrome will translate the webpage this one time.
    • To always translate pages in this language, tap More More and then Always translate pages in [language].

Not working? Try refreshing the webpage. If you still can't tap Translate, the language might not be available for translation.

Note: If you chose to "Never translate" a language, it will appear here.
