Connect to secure networks with a Passpoint profile

Your Chromebook automatically finds and connects to compatible and secured Wi-Fi networks with a Passpoint profile. A Passpoint profile is downloaded and installed through an Android application. This lets you connect without the need to select the network or manually enter your credentials.

Connect to Passpoint

Important:
  • Passpoint subscriptions are applied to individual ChromeOS devices and aren't synced across devices under your account.
  • Passpoint subscriptions are available through certain Android apps. These apps will request permission to install Wi-Fi networks to the device.

To connect to a Passpoint network:

  1. Download and install the Android app.
  2. When the app requests permission to install a new Wi-Fi network, select Allow.
    • After setup is complete, the device will automatically connect to participating networks.

Tip: To remove these credentials and remove all Wi-Fi networks automatically discovered with these credentials, uninstall the app or from Settings, manually forget any one of the Wi-Fi networks automatically discovered.
