Set wallpapers & themes

You can pick which desktop wallpaper and browser themes you want to use on your Chromebook. Then you can sync them so they show up on any Chromebook you use.

Choose background wallpaper

  1. Sign in to your Chromebook and connect to the Internet.
  2. Click the status area, where your account picture appears.
  3. Go to Settings > Appearance > Set wallpaper.
  4. Click one of the images to set your wallpaper. You can also add your own by clicking Custom, or get a randomly selected image by checking the box next to Surprise me.

Choose browser theme

  1. Sign in to your Chromebook and connect to the Internet.
  2. Click the status area, where your account picture appears.
  3. Go to Settings > Appearance > Get themes.
  4. A page in the Chrome Web Store will open, where you'll find themes designed for Google Chrome.
  5. Once you find a theme you like, click the Add to Chrome button to add it.

See the same wallpaper & theme on all of your Chromebooks

  1. Make sure that you’re signed in to your Chromebook.
  2. Click the status area, where your account picture appears.
  3. Go to Settings > People > Advanced sync settings....
  4. In the box that opens, use the drop-down menu to pick Sync everything or Choose what to sync.
  5. If you pick “Choose what to sync,” select Themes & Wallpapers.
  6. Click OK.
