You can personalize your Chromebook with a custom wallpaper for your desktop.
Note: If you use your Chromebook at work or school, your administrator might not let you change your wallpaper. If you can't change your wallpaper, contact your administrator for more help.
Choose a background wallpaper
- Right-click your desktop.
- Select Set wallpaper & style.
- Select Wallpaper.
- Select one of the images to set as your wallpaper. You can also select the wallpaper to change daily or refresh.
- To choose a wallpaper with a light or dark theme, select Radiance.
- To set a custom wallpaper with an image downloaded to your Chromebook, select My Images.
- To use a personal photo saved in your Google Photos account, select Google Photos.
Use the same wallpaper across multiple Chromebooks
- At the bottom right, select the time.
- Select Settings
.
- In the "Accounts" section, select Sync and Google services.
- Select Manage what you sync.
- Choose what you want to sync. To use all the same settings, including wallpaper,on every Chromebook you sign in to, turn on Sync everything.
Change the screen saver background
Important: School and work accounts can't access the screen saver option.
- Right-click your desktop.
- Select Set wallpaper & style.
- Select Screensaver.
- To turn on the screen saver, on the right, select the switch.
- Underneath “Screensaver animation,” select Feel the breeze or Float on by to have your photos displayed and animated within simulated frames.
- To choose an album to set as your screen saver, select Google Photos or Art gallery.
Tip: If you turn on the screen saver, the display stays on while the device charges. Your Chromebook doesn't go to sleep.
Fix problems changing wallpapers
If you're having trouble setting your wallpaper, make sure the image is in a supported format (.png or .jpg).
