Manage who can find your device’s languages

Your handwriting and other language content may be downloaded or found on your Chromebook when you use certain features. If you share your Chromebook with others, they may find this content and your preferred languages.

Change your device’s language

Other people may discover your Chromebook's language setting, which controls features like menus, when they use your device. If you don't want others to find your chosen language, change your device's setting.

Remove an input method or keyboard language

When you share your Chromebook with others, they may find and use your input method, also known as the keyboard language. If you don't want them to find this, you can remove the input method.

  1. At the bottom right, select the time and then Settings Settings.
  2. On the left, select Advanced and then Languages and inputs.
  3. In the "Languages and inputs" section, select Inputs.
  4. Under “Input methods,” next to the input you want to remove, select Remove Remove.
