To set up Wi-Fi network syncing between Chromebooks:
- Sign in using the same primary account on each device. Your primary account is the one that you sign into from the login screen.
- Connect to a consumer or household network. You cannot sync networks that use enterprise security with EAP.
- Connect to a secure, password-protected Wi-Fi network. If you did not add the network on your primary account, you’ll need to forget and then rejoin the network. Wi-Fi networks without passwords are not synced.
Important: If you're using a Chromebook at work or at school, your administrator might choose to turn off sync. If so, you won't be able to sync your information.
Sync your Wi-Fi networks across Chromebook devices
- Sign in to your Chromebook.
- At the bottom right, select the time.
- Select Settings
.
- In the 'Accounts' section, select Sync and Google services.
- Under 'Sync', select Manage what you sync.
- Choose an option. You’ll need to follow these instructions on all Chromebooks between which you’d like to share networks.
- Sync everything: Your Wi-Fi networks and other settings will be synced across devices.
- Customise sync: If you’ve selected this option, go to 'Sync data' and turn on Wi-Fi networks.
Tip: To verify that a network is synced, go to your network’s details page in settings. If your network is synced, the page will say 'Synced with other devices on your account'.
Sync your Wi-Fi networks with your Android phone
Your connected Android phone must be set up to sync your networks. Learn how to connect your Android phone to your Chromebook.
To sync with your connected Android phone:
- Sign in to your Chromebook.
- At the bottom right, select the time.
- Select Settings
- In the 'Connected devices' section, select your phone.
- Turn on Wi-Fi Sync.
Tip: When you turn on Wi-Fi Sync, a notification appears. Tap the notification to adjust the settings.
Forget a network
Your Chromebook saves network information when you connect to a network. To delete that info:
- Sign in to your Chromebook.
- At the bottom right, select the time.
- Select 'Settings'
- In the 'Network' section, select Wi-Fi.
- Select Known networks.
- Find the network that you want to forget, then select More

Forget.About shared networks
- Shared networks that were originally added by another user, or added when no one is signed in, are not synced.
- Shared networks added while setting up a personal Chromebook for the first time will be synced to the owner account.
- Proxy or Nameservers set up by other users for a network that you’ve created will not be synced.
