Access your development web servers from other devices

To test how your website looks on a phone, you can make your local server available externally. Learn how to set up Linux on your Chromebook.

Add or open a port

1. On your Chromebook, at the bottom right, select the time.
2. Select Settings Advanced Developers.
3. Select Linux Port forwarding.
4. Choose one of the following:
   • Add a new port: Next to 'Ports', select Add. In the box that appears, add a port number, choose a type or add a label to quickly identify your port.
   • Use an existing port: Turn on your preferred port.

Remove a port

1. On your Chromebook, at the bottom right, select the time.
2. Select Settings Advanced Developers.
3. Select Linux Port forwarding.
4. Choose one of the following:
   • Delete a port: Next to the port that you want to delete, select More Remove port.
   • Delete all ports: Next to 'Port number', select More Remove all ports.
