Report abuse and copyright infringement

If you find something in the Chrome Web Store that violates the Chrome Web Store Terms of Service, or trademark or copyright infringement, let us know.

  • If an app or extension isn’t working well, let the developer know. In the Chrome Web Store, open the item and click Support.
  • To leave a rating or feedback, open an item in the Chrome Web Store and click Reviews.

Report abuse

  1. Sign in to the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Click the item you want to report.
  3. In the window that appears, near the bottom right, click Report Abuse.
  4. Fill out the form, then click Submit.

Report copyright or trademark infringement

If you think an item in the Chrome Web Store violates a copyright or trademark, fill out this form. Our team will review your report and take any necessary action.

When to report

App or extension harms your computer or data

The Chrome Web Store doesn’t allow items that transmit viruses, worms, defects, Trojan horses, malware, or other destructive items. Also, we don’t allow items involved in password or account sign-in phishing scams, or items that handle your data in a non-transparent way.

Examples:

  • Stealing your financial or sign-in info
  • Interfering with networks or servers
App or extension misrepresents its value or features

The Chrome Web Store doesn’t allow items that pretend to be someone else, or items that contain false or misleading information in any content, titles, icons, descriptions, or screenshots.

Examples:

  • Mimicking the functionality or warnings from Chrome or your computer’s operating system
  • Working in a different way than what was advertised in the item’s description, title, or images in the Chrome Web Store
  • Misrepresenting as an official product of an organization
  • Using irrelevant, misleading, or excessive keywords in item descriptions, titles, or metadata
App or extension does something illegal

The Chrome Web Store doesn’t allow items that do unlawful or unauthorized activities.

Examples:

  • Selling prescription drugs without a prescription
  • Providing unauthorized access to content on websites by circumventing paywalls or sign-in restrictions
  • Facilitating online gambling through casinos, sports betting, or lotteries
App or extension contains sexual content

The Chrome Web Store doesn’t allow content that:

  • Contains nudity, graphic sex acts, or sexually explicit material
  • Drives traffic to commercial pornography sites
App or extension contains violent or hateful content

The Chrome Web Store doesn't allow content that:

  • Shows gratuitous violence
  • Contains material that threatens, harasses, or bullies other people
  • Advocates against people based on their race, ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, sexual orientation, or gender identity
App or extension isn’t working at all

The Chrome Web Store doesn’t allow items that don’t work after you install them.

The Chrome Web Store doesn’t allow items that trick you into installing something.

Examples:

  • Tricking you into installing extensions with deceptive or socially engineered inline installation pages on websites
  • Forcing you to install something by trapping you in full-screen mode
  • Suppressing Chrome’s warnings about extensions you’ve installed
  • Blocking you from uninstalling an item
