Google Chrome randomly says there is no Internet connection, but everything else works fine 1 Recommended Answer 43 Replies 363 Upvotes

I've been noticing an issue that's happened at least once a day for the past week or so. When opening Google Chrome, or even while it's still open, any page I go to will give me this error:

No Internet

Try:
  • Checking the network cables, modem, and router
  • Reconnecting to Wi-Fi
  • Running Windows Network Diagnostics

DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET

I can't give a definite amount of time that this lasts for, as it seems to last for a minute longer every time it happens. It started at about 1 minute, and it's getting to last for 5 minutes or more at this point. It also happens more frequently every day, starting at once a day and now happening maybe 2-3 times a day. I did run the Windows Network Diagnostics at one point, and it said that my DNS probe was disconnected. The only problem with this issue is that everything else on my computer is fine and connected to the Internet with no problems. I have not changed my Internet setup at all, and this error randomly started to occur last week. I've been using the Linksys Velop internet towers for several months and this has never happened to me before (of course, it would happen every now and then mostly due to storms, but not at this frequency and for no apparent reason). I did notice that my modem had been moved over a couple of inches, but I'm not sure if this even has to do with the problem. Once this happens again, I'll provide a screenshot of the error. Please let me know if you've also been having this issue, or preferably, if you know a way to easily fix it.

3 days later and the problem is still happening. It seems less frequent, but still daily. Does anyone have a fix?

Now the problem isn't happening on just Google Chrome, it's happening on everything on my PC. I always check my Internet and it never actually goes out, it's just my ridiculous computer.

I am getting the same error message on my work desktop, but only for ONE website.  All other sites work fine and the site I can't open on my work desktop will open on my phone.  Any ideas on how to fix this?
