No text appears and websites do not load

Question

So earlier today, i updated my computer to windows 10, after i did that chrome would not work at all, no pictures were loading and a black box woud apear at the top of the screen and would not go away. I have since reverted back into the previous windows version to see if that will help chrome. this is what i get now (see pictures) as  you can see pictures and text are not loading when i go into settings nothing loads. I have tried unistalling chrome, changing the properties of chrome but nothing is working please help!

Please do try the following troubleshooting steps to see if they help you out. :)
 
Try disabling hardware acceleration to see if it works.
To do that, go to chrome://settings/system and toggle the second option under System that says 'Use Hardware acceleration when available'. See if it helps solve your issue.
