This is being discussed on the main topic here:

Uninstalling all the Crome updates done the trick for me. The swipe down only refreshes the page now at the very top of it, not when scrolling up mid/bottom of the page.

I can't count the number of times I have wiped out something I was typing because I thumbed up but was already at the top.

fuck you, to the stupid asshole that thought auto-refresh on all the tabs, while was a bright idea... not to mention when you scroll!! god damn..

do us all a favor: fill a dry tub, or bin with gasoline (or other flammable liquid), sit or lie, in said tub or bin, the strike a match, light a lighter, or create a spark with static electricity

..think of it as a neat little science experiment, you could even film it, so that your roommates/parents can post the video here when you are through! ^_^ I know everyone using chrome for anything important will appreciate and enjoy watching it and knowing the world will be a better place, after your little experiment!

I like chrome but due to this critical flaw I will have no choice but to switch to other browser. What a big mistake by whoever made this decision. Everyone don't forget to upvote this so that the developers can notice this.

I completely agree that this force-fed "feature" is total crap and the developer(s) that implemented it are morons that know little if anything about quality UI/UE. I will remove Chrome from my device and go with something else -- perhaps Firefox if it gives me the ability to disable asinine features.

It's an android problem because it does it in the eBay app as well

Someone above said they can't count how many times they've had something they were typing wiped out because of the accidental refresh. It's beyond frustrating when you're typing something out (especially something long or time consuming that you make a lot of edits and changes to), you're so close to being done, and then you accidentally swipe up and refresh the page, deleting everything you just wrote. This is RAGE inducing. While I like chrome for Android, it's to a point now where this happens so often, & this stupid "feature" can't be terminated, so I have to look at other browsers. Great job.

Yeah and there's not even a confirmation that you want the screen refreshed!! It just does it without permission! Grrrrrr

Totally so. Crazy stuff, all agree... Whoever has done this will be losing customers en masse, or maybe their job!?? Maddening crazy.
A setting must be able to halt this. Can anyone work out something? to address it, or know how to change it,  ...Pls say!!
