I have the latest version of Chrome. Facebook is telling me that I have an unsupported browser.

Trying to use facebook, but Ive been using chrome extension Revert, to have the old version of facebook. This has been working fine for about a month, but as two days ago facebook is saying that my browser is unsupported. I have the latest version of chrome. Ive also tried to troubleshoot, and enabled WebGL as was suggested by google searches. That hasnt helped though.

Just started happening to me this morning, exactly the same situation, using FBP Revert for awhile now and then this.

Keeping my eye on this, I hope there's an answer somewhere. I am also having this problem.

If you're using Facebook Purity, disable it. That just fixed the same problem I was having. I've contacted Facebook Purity about it.

Wish I had an answer, but I'm experiencing the same issue. FBP & Revert have worked perfectly up until now. Two days ago I was happy to get the old Facebook back, now this browser issue. I have updated Chrome, signed off and shut down and still the same.

I had the same issue, I just disabled FB revert and then removed it from extensions and now my FB page is loading correctly but in their new format. Perhaps the old format is no longer available.

I just went to extensions, turned off FB Purity and Revert site and it's started working fine again, I think that's it, we may not be able to use those anymore and I hate the new design :/

Very weird. I've used mostly Chrome on Mac/Macbook, and yes, FBP.  Suddenly I'm being forced to a mobile feed where I can't see my home, preferences, etc. It's not a mobile! And my browser is Chrome.

Guessing they've beaten down FBP &/or nailing IP addresses.  I've been able to access FB using either an incognito window on one desktop (using VPN) or using Brave on the MBP, with or without VPN. Definitely a new aggressive act by FB to drain every last eyeball and crush any resistance.  What a shock. Wish they'd let me use FB normally, should I want to. Which diminishes by the day....

I went into FB Settings,  then on the left of the page, scrolled down to  Extensions, and removed both Revert and FB Purity.   That solved the problem but of course I now have the new FB.

It seems to have something to do with FBP. I disabled it, and my regular page came back. Everything but the chat box, which disappeared a few days ago.

This is definitely related to FBP; if I disable it (and Revert site) I get Facebook back albeit with the new hideous page. If I re-enable FBP and Revert, my browser is suddenly no longer supported. Sometimes I really hate Facebook...

I had the same problem. I desabled FBP and Revert Site extensions and Facebook returned to normal.

Same - I've removed the FBP extension and closed and reopened Chrome but still a problem.

Yes, same problem for me. It looks like FB is trying to stop people using FBP

Ditto.
THis seems to be a "fix" directed at FBP
I quite dislike the new Facebook.

I'm having the same problem.  Facebook tells me I am using an unsupported browser.  Have uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome but problem remains.

Are Facebook trying to 'punish' FB Purity, Revert Site and Old Layout users, and force them to use their crappy 'new' version? Just wondering, as it's rather convenient that this has started just now.....

Relevant Answer
It seems that Facebook is 'blocking' Chrome if you have Purity or Revert installed. If you remove the Purity and/or Revert extension(s) Chrome works again.

Relevant Answer
Yes, if you are using FBP, disable it. That is where the issue is.

also getting this from this morning.  I also have a Facebook Page, and you get the option to revert to the old FB for 48 hours. Not sure if this is interfering with Revert, but setting up a page (quite easy to do) could get round having to use the new design for a bit if Revert and Purity have been targeted by FB.

Relevant Answer
It's Revert Site, not FB Purity that is causing it.

Use Incognito mode. If this works then an extension might be the cause?

I noticed the same problem when logging in to Facebook this morning.   I kept FBPurity but deleted the extension for Revert and I now have Facebook back but, unfortunately, it is the new Facebook page which we all seem to hate.  Facebook are not going to listen to us even though a huge percentage hate it but Steve of FBP is still trying to "fix" Revert so that we can have our old Facebook back again.

Happened to me as well this morning. I disabled FBP and Revert and everything was fine. Become the admin of a page or group and you have the ability to revert back to the old template 48 hours at a time. PITA but better than that new crap! HTH

It's definitely FBP that's been outlawed. I got the 'unsupported browser' message in Chrome but as soon as I disabled FBP in Extensions, everything came back up, minus FBP of course.
I worry that, if Facebook can manipulate what you're allowed and not allowed to see, just how much are they manipulating on a day-to-day basis.
I only had FBP installed so I could switch off some of the irrelevant, time-wasting, space-eating clutter and bullshit, I wasn't doing any harm.
Zuckerberg, you are acting like a psychotic megalomaniac! Stop trying to take over the World!
Any more of this nonsense and I will expunge you from my life, plain and simple. There is life without Facebook and I will not be subjected to your mind-control experiments!

Same here. m.facebook is unusable for me, so I turned off FBP and that gave me access to the desktop version, but I am trying to figure out how to get to my FBP to turn off the revert function so I can at least have FBP on the new look. If I turn it on to get to it, it sends me to the mobile version and no option to get to FBP there.

I fixed this by disabling the "Switch back to the old Facebook design" checkbox on FBP.  I did not have to entirely turn off FBP.

I just now went into Chrome to clear some browsing data and facebook now loads properly.  Open Chrome, click on the three dots in the upper right corner, go down to More Tools, click on Clear browsing data...   I selected ONLY Clear Images and files then clicked the Clear Data tab.  When the operation was complete I tried facebook and it now works.

It appears that Facebook Purity in your extensions needs to stay disabled.  I enabled it, then tried facebook again and it went back to being unrecognized.

Had this problem in the latest version of Firefox while using the Revert Site addon. Disabling the addon resolved the issue. Facebook is getting a bit hostile about how their users use their site. ;-)

I think it is punishment from Facebook for circumventing their crappy, problematic, unstable new format.
But don't worry.  I am sure they will still be able to scoop up and monetize your personal and private information.
