Chrome Doesn't Go Dark Mode on Chrome 74 Windows 10 1809

Google Chrome 74 has just released to the public today, and it includes a dark mode for Windows 10. When I updated my Google Chrome today to Chrome 74, I made the default app mode setting on my computer to be dark, but Google Chrome is still in light mode. Does anyone have a solution to fix this problem?

I had the same problem. but after closing chrome and killing all the task it worked

For some users? WTF.. Get it for all and make it an selectable option ffs.. thats too annoying that some has it and others don´t Arghhhh

How about you make it an option to turn it off instead of having it tied to a windows system setting?

But yeah, i know having a choice isn't really trending these days.

Those who are trying for DarkMOde in Chrome v74 should install the extension named Dark Mode..

That should to enable dark mode in Chrome v 74.

My google chrome goes in a split second from dark to light and back to dark. when I go into youtube even if my youtube also is in dark mode. I do use the latest google chrome. but I am not sure for how long maybe jump to mac. I use more time nanny my pc when it should be the other way around sorry this is a not well done

I have a dark bar in chrome but thats it. i need my dark mode. i thought i kept up to updates and was on 1909. so i checked winver and saw that i was on 1809. i am in dark mode on windows i just need it for chrome. or i should update to 1909.

I had the same problem. And I've just found the way how to enable dark mode in Youtube manually. You just need to open the developer's menu, find console and type document.cookie=”VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE=fPQ4jCL6EiE; path=/”. If you were logged in Youtube you can open profile and select the Dark Theme option. Use the switch to turn it on or off. Or move to settings and switch on the Dark Mode option.
