Account image icon (used to switch between accounts) on top right disappeared from new tab screen.

Yesterday when I opened chrome, I found Account image icon was missing which is normally beside gmail, images and google app list icon on top right. So i tried many things like reseting settings, clearing browsing data and resetting theme but nothing worked so I uninstalled and reinstalled chrome and problem was suprizingly solved. I was able to use account image icon to swich between accounts from tab page and sign out of particular account.
Today when I opened chrome that icon was again gone and now I dont want to go through trouble of reinstalling chrome and signing into all my accounts and reinstalling all extentions. Isn't there any better solution to this problem.

Also this problem exist only on new tab page while on gmail, google or youtube this icon is present. As it is evident from the images attached with this post.
Here in this discussion I am not talking about switch user icon which is beside URL bar but about the icon on new tab page which helps to switch between gmail accounts of same user.

I have the same problem at my home and in office. It happened a month ago, but I still haven't found a solution and couldn't get any answers. I google it, but any solutions didn't work. Although this is so inconvenient for users, I do not expect Google to fix this because it's not about their profits.

Fix above didn't work for me as I already had that option turned off. Any other ideas?

it's a trick you you guys you turn off cookies that say recommended then turn it back on
