Chrome crashed and now won't open. When clicking on the app it opens and then shuts 2 seconds later. I think there might be some malware on the app but as I can't open it I can't delete the extension that is causing this. I have re downloaded chrome multiple times and have restarted my computer multiple times.

I've got the same problem. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome, restarted the computer ... but on startup it closes immediately.
does anyone know what to do?

Same issue, I even wiped relatively brand new computer clean. It worked once and then now crashes again!! I never thought I would see the day when Microsoft Edge would beat Google, very disappointed!

close Chrome, open this folder C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\
and rename the 'User Data' folder as User Data.old etc. then reopen Chrome.

I'm having the same issues except it just randomly closed and wouldn't open again. no crash or anything. I tried what IamRoby said and it still didn't work. I've tried literally everything. Every now and again it opens for maybe a minute and then dies again. Don't know what else to do except just factory reset the entire computer.

Hi Kristen,

It could be a problem with your internet connection

Make sure you have a strong connection if chrome won't load a website

also if Chrome keeps crashing and it won't solved I suggest you can try to use a different browser like Safari Or Firefox.

Thank You

I am having this exact problem, and also have tried all solutions on this forum I could find. Mine started after this last update, so I think it could be the issue- rather than malware or an extension (the only extension I use was my antivirus, and I removed that)

My current (seemingly temporary) fix is to 'brute force' it. It works semi-alright and is usable now, and I just opened it repeatedly (every time it closed the blank or invisible window, I immediately try again) and eventually it started to behave after about 10 tries. Obviously not the best fix ;D, but better than nothing if you need saved work/bookmarks, especially seeing as it hasn't crashed for an hour now. If any other option seems fruitful definitely use that over something like this!
