Display problem in Chrome on 2019 Macbook Pro 16
0
As you can see from the image below I have blue horizontal lines appearing within my Chrome application window

2019 Macbook Pro 16

The application is the latest build of Chrome Version 80.0.3987.163 (Official Build) (64-bit)

It has happened 3 times now - each time appear to be after the laptop has been left running overnight.

Not it is not the full display affected only the application window. I've also only seen this in the chrome browser (I've also posted this to the Chrome support site) it sometimes goes away simply by killing Chrome but this time required a reboot.

Anyone seen this before - got any ideas??

I've experienced the same problem.

It also appears to affect UI of extensions (such as Dark Reader and 1Password). As well as the dev tools panel.

I've also noticed it sometimes affects subsets of pages or particular components. See image attached.

MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019)
macOS Catalina 10.15.4 (19E287)
2.6 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7
64 GB 2667 MHz DDR4
AMD Radeon Pro 5300M 4 GB
Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB

EDIT:
I was able to fix this by setting Chrome's GPU rasterization to disabled. Found in chrome://flags/
Is this an indication that the GPU in some Macbooks are unstable or broken in some way?

GPU rasterization fixes it, but the problem is that many applications uses Chrome under the hood. For example whatsapp desktop app and Teams desktop app both uses Chrome and in fact I have problems on both the applications

I'm noticing this now too and it happens to me really frequently. I thought it was the dongle that was connecting to my monitors. Does anyone have any updates on what's causing the issue?

You can run the same fix with specific apps like whatsapp running this command:
open /Applications/WhatsApp.app --args --disable-gpu-rasterization
