I have tried searching recent tabs, history, downloads, etc. These are legal docs and I need them tomorrow. They took me hours to fill out.

Maggie,

When filling out a PDF form, downloading it only downloads the original form. Hit Print > Print as PDF to save the changes.

Kind Regards

Hit Print > Print as PDF to save the changes.

This is not a good option if you actually want to keep the form editable.

Right!  What is going on??  I start filling out a pdf form then Save in the Google Drive, then go back to keeping filling out and NOPE it won't allow me!  Obviously it's making it a read-only doc but how do you change that??  I try pulling up in Google Docs and it's format is all messed up... SO ANNOYING!

I have the same problem. Has anyone found a solution?

I think that it is disingenuous to allow a user to fill out the form and then have no useful recourse other than to essentially 'print screen'.  Fortunately it only took five minutes for me to fill out the form, but I'm twenty minutes into troubleshooting how to save. Disappointing.

Using the free adobe acrobat reader app available for windows 10, open the pdf and select fill and sign from the lower right, fill out the fillable spots, save it and you can reopen, continue filling, and add and change everything easily, and save as many versions as you like at every stage, which allows you to go back to different re-starting points if you like

I think we need to use Microsoft Edge to do this. Chrome does not seem to have this functionality. The solution is to ditch Chrome and use Edge or another browser that actually supports this feature.

I have to say that this is a terribly implemented feature. ctrl+s means save.

Same problem here.  This really sucks, especially with no warning.  You can save and lose your work or you can print to PDF and lose the ability to modify.  Chrome should be disabled from modifying a modifiable PDF document if the result cannot be handled properly or there should be a WARNING!
