I have the same issue. The strange this is that this is also happening in other browsers, like edge.
Could it be that a local font file is damaged? Im hoping these forums can offer a solution.

Also, installing cannary does nothing for this issue, solidifying the idea that this actually lies outside of chrome.

Same issue here, but only on chrome. Internet Explorer and Firefox are fine.

I don't think that's right, can anyone confirm this?

I didn't have the font installed on my computer and still had the issue, I had to install the font recently due to working with fonts.

helvetica neue chrome problem

, you'll see that it has caused various problems for many years.

I just deleted all Helvetica fonts from my system and it fixed the problem.

Had the same problem, deleted all Helvetica from laptop. issue solved. Well, not completely because I need Helvetica :(

Well I have the same problem but i tried to delete my Helvetica Fonts but it wont let me. Its says it is in use, but i have no programs open....?

Go to the Settings > Personalization > Fonts > Search for Helvetica Neue > And delete the fonts that says 'Bold' or 'Regular' which is written in outline.

windows won't let me uninstall Helvetica because apparently it's being used by some program but there is literally nothing that could be using it
