Recently, a few of our users are having trouble viewing PDFs inside of Chrome. It's very inconsistent. Sometimes the PDFs show up as they should. Other times the PDF pages never load and it's just a grey, blank screen along with the PDF viewer control bar at the top. They're on the latest version of Chrome. I've cleared Cache and History from all time (except for saved passwords).

Any ideas? Do we just have to wait for Google to fix this issue or is there anything I can do? Thanks!

I have the same problem.

Second part of problem is that if I want save PDF only to computer (not open) from Gmail, it automatically open the PDF in Chrome and on background save on computer and don't show the info about that.

2 weeks ago functionality works OK, open was open a save was save functionality, now save is open+save... It looks on bug in Chrome...

I'm getting this issue too, with more than one website, and have seen at least one other user at my workplace with the same issue in Chrome (one in Windows and one in MacOS).

I've been running into the same problems with Chrome not opening PDF files. It started happening about a week ago on all my Windows machines running updated versions of Chrome.

I've found a reliable (yet temporary) fix, reset your Chrome variations (--reset-variation-state is the command line switch) you may have to relaunch Chrome a few times to get the working variation but I can confirm it has fixed it on both computers which were having the issue.

Why variations? I had the same version of OS and Chrome as a co-worker who it was working fine for, variations vary greatly so I figured I'd try a few to see if it'd work.
