how do i sort my bookmarks alphabetically if sort by name is grayed out

Sorting Bookmarks Manually
- Open the Bookmark Manager:
- Click on the three-dot menu (⁝) at the top-right corner of Chrome.
- Hover over "Bookmarks," then click on "Bookmark Manager."
- Drag and Drop:
- In the Bookmark Manager, you can manually drag and drop your bookmarks to arrange them in alphabetical order.
- Install a Bookmark Sorting Extension:
- There are various Chrome extensions available that can help you sort bookmarks. Search for "Bookmark Manager" or "Bookmark Sorter" in the Chrome Web Store.
- Sort with the Extension:
- Once installed, follow the extension's instructions to sort your bookmarks alphabetically.
- Sync with Google Account:
- If you are using Chrome sync, try signing out and signing back into your Google account. Sometimes, this can refresh the bookmark settings.
- Check Another Device:
- If you have Chrome synced on multiple devices, check if the sorting option is available on another device.
- Reset Chrome Settings:
- If none of the above methods work, you can reset Chrome settings. Go to
Settings>Reset settings>Restore settings to their original defaults. Be aware that this will reset all Chrome settings to default, but your bookmarks will remain intact.
