Package tracking in Google Chrome for iOS: is it a new feature?

Hi everyone, I noticed this setting in Chrome for iOS. Visible by going to Settings < Google Services. Do any of you have it? Is this a new feature?

Yes!  It has appeared on my iPad Chrome browser -  I thought it could be useful but it is just annoying.

I am browsing ebay and on each new listing a pop up window appears saying  that a new package is being tracked.  In a new Google search tab an embedded window opens to show about 47 Fed-Ex packages listed there (?!).

Thank you for mentioning how I can turn it off :)

It appears to be auto-scanning numbers on the site and thinks each listing is a new parcel I have ordered.  I think….

How do you turn it off?

I have the same problem and have tried this but there is no ‘disable’ function.  The options relate to auto-detection only.  I have selected ‘never’ and then ‘un-tracked’ all the (non-existent) FedEx packages but they come back as soon as I open a new tab.

Yes Iam facing the same issue even after disable all features. FedEx tracking again appears whenever I newly open the chrome app. Is this a sign for phone is hacked ?

What an utterly useless and crap feature. I enabled it thinking it was going to be useful, but then it started showing me 2 Fedex parcels that are not even mine, and when clicking to view them on the Fedex site, it states the tracking ID's don't exist.

Why am I being shown ID's for parcels that
A) Are not mine
and
B) Aren't even correct ID's...

Something just popped up on my screen while I was just doing a random search for whatever. I haven’t ordered anything so I was really shocked and then a little paranoid. I went straight to my bank account to see if someone hacked my account and went shopping. thank God my account is fine! I copied the tracking number, looked it up and FedEx said they couldn’t find it/it didn’t exist something like that. What is even more unnerving is that I can’t seem to find a link or a record of this tracking number. Is there something stored in my preferences or on my account where I could see  a history?!?!

Same for me. Odd FedEx packages that are not mine and don’t track.

this can be a good feature if google chrome let us add the tracking details instead of scanning of tracking ids randomly and adding those links (which could be spoofed attack as well). Or another way would be to scan and look for any courier tracking already open in one of the tabs. This is what happens when you hire bad engineers (who just mugs interview Q&A) into your company, you get very poorly thought out developed features.
