2-step authentication link not appearing in my Google account

Hi guys, have just received a new phone and have to set up 2-step auth again. However when in my account and following all the steps from Google, the one glaring omission is that the link to 2-step authentication that is supposed to appear under "Security / Signing in to Google" does not appear. This is a MAJOR pain and after a lot of searching, can't find the fix for this issue. My google account I am the Administrator and have had 2-step set up in the past with no issues. Just seems like the link in my account is non-existent.

Hey Stefan,

Unfortunately no, it takes me to the 2-step landing page, but once I sign in, it takes me back to the same page with no mention or links to 2-step. It's perplexing as I used to have it all setup, now it seems to have disappeared.
Hi there,

Can you contact the Google account help forum:
They are happy to help you further with that Google account -> 2 Step verification issue.

Thanks,
Stefan

Here's the actual answer to this issue - I just found it after 20 mins of searching...

1.  Don't go to Google Accounts first, go to gsuite and log in (https://admin.google.com)

2.  Go Security > Basic Security > Select "Allow users to turn on 2FA"

3.  Go back to Google Accounts (https://myaccount.google.com) and now the 2FA option is showing.

All the best.

I have spent ages yesterday and today having the SAME problem as described here.  Such a stupid system when you can't just upgrade your phone without hours of drama trying to use your auth app on your new phone.  Why does it not just transfer to your new phone like other apps?  Is it 2010 and nobody told me?

After wasting so much time I now have to get my administrator (who is in a different country) to try the option mentioned and try again tomorrow.

Really unhappy with Google atm.

No mention until one of the answers above that you need to be an administrator of the account or have the account set up so that 2SA is an OPTION.  And no indication on any google search as to how to get back up codes, or QR codes.  There needs to be a change in approach to how this app transfers from one phone to the next.  Google should be making this easy for dumb users like me.

I'm having pretty much the same problem.  l lost my cell and I bought a little phone in walmart until I can get another one from Att. Well, I've been trying to log into my google account with my password and can;t do the 2 step because the code is set to be sent to my cell number and an old number my daughter had. Now, i've been trying to turn off the 2-step with no luck yesterday and this morning

When I log into the Gsuite there is no settings option. Where/how do you find it?
