sultI use Chrome Remote Desktop to edit video on a much more substantial machine housed in my office. Lately, it seems that audio playback sounds slow. This isn't a sync issue. The audio sounds like someone speaking very slowly.

For instance, a voice will sound deeper than natural. However, it's difficult to tell whether or not the pacing of the speech is slowed down as well.

I'm inclined to believe that this is an audio decode issue in chrome. Like the frequency of the audio is playing at a faster rate on the remote machine, and when it plays back through Chrome Remote Desktop it's decoding it as though it is at a lower frequency.

I've tried this from multiple machines with the same result. There's likely a setting on the remote machine that I have to change, but I wouldn't know where to begin.

Same issue here, It sounds pretty creepy to listen to. remotedesktop.google.com has this issue where the chromium app doesn't.

I have the same problem. It was the number of channels in the host (surround 5.1) versus the local (stereo). After readjust the host to stereo and reopen the tab, the sound is normal now.
I don't like the idea of need to adjust this everytime.

Same problem here, but as pointed out by User8296 ... it only happens on remotedesktop.google.com but is fine on the app.

Same problem, only happening on the web app, not in the chrome app. Windows Guest using Google Chrome connecting to a Windows Host.

I have same problem with new extension. But the audio is working fine with application mode.

I had this issue and came to this thread and seen the one about surround sound 5.1 or whatever. My PC's audio output device was set to my gaming headset so i changed to it my speakers and now it works fine.
