How to Remove a Google Account from a Work PC's Chrome without Deleting Google Account Data

Hello,

Currently, I am working on two different work computers, but I use the same Google account on both and keep them synced on Chrome. Eventually when I leave, I would like to remove this account from both work computers, but still be able to access the same info in my Google Account elsewhere.

Furthermore, I would like to preface by saying that I only save bookmarks and passwords to certain websites. Therefore, I don't actually save my important personal info, like personal account passwords or credit cards. This would just be convenient for when transferring to another work computer and keeping my bookmarks and other things. Previously, I just never synced my accounts, deleted everything I could find in the settings, and then removed the account from the work computer's Chrome to ensure nothing is saved.

To my knowledge, as long as I de-sync the Google account, delete all the info, and remove the account (in this order) from the work computer's Chrome, I shouldn't leave behind any info that way yet still have it stored in the cloud. Is this correct? I apologize if this is obvious, but I just want to be sure that this means someone can't just access my account on the work computer later. Even if it's not really very sensitive info.

Thank you for any help.

If you delete the profile through the "Manage profiles" dialogue, it will delete all associated data from the device, but not from your account.
Alternatively, you can turn off Sync in the profile, at which time, you will be given the option to delete that account's data from your device.

Hello bkennelly,

Apologies for the late reply, I appreciate the quick response to my inquiry.

If you delete the profile through the "Manage profiles" dialogue, it will delete all associated data from the device, but not from your account.

OK! If I understand correctly, then does that mean I won't need to worry about sensitive info being left behind by just deleting the profile from the device? So, I won't need to de-sync first and then delete the profile to make sure no info is kept on the browser of the device.

I did not know about de-syncing giving you the option to delete the account's data from the device. So, I may just use that option if I can't figure out things later on.

Thank you for the info.
