How to disable the password checkup in Chrome

I have stored many website's password in Chrome, and now, I cannot store a new password as the popup of password checkup will automatically close the prompt of saving passwords.

This may due to a new password checkup feature, even I try to execute the password checkup, it ask me to change over 800 password of different website.  It's crazy!  I understand the security issue behind, but I already use some dummy password for those website, which in fact has no security issue to me.

Is there any way to disable this feature, as it is useless to me, and just waste the time.

If you had enabled safe browsing from Chrome settings (chrome://settings/syncSetup) you may turn off this feature from the Sync and other services settings.
  1. Go to Chrome settings and go to Sync and Google services.
  2. Turn off Warn you if passwords are exposed in a data breach
In android,
  1. Three dots > Settings > Sync and Google services > turn off Warn you if passwords are exposed in a data breach and turn off this feature to disable the built in Password warnings for breach.
Note: This option will be disabled by default if you had disabled the Safe browsing in the same settings window.

Are you using the password checkup extension in chrome?
If so, please disable the extension and try saving the password.

If the above response does not helps, please describe your issue with screenshots.

I also wish there was a way to disable the annoying password checker popup in the Android phone Chrome browser app.
It's driving me bonkers when it appears every time I log in anywhere...
I don't believe there are any settings to disable it except for turning off the save password function.

Thanks very much, BlackMasters

Thanks, blackMasters.
The problem seems solved after disabled "Warn you if passwords are exposed in a data breach".

Is this a new feature in Chrome?  I just hit such annoying prompt recently, and I have never enable this feature by myself.

Yeah, it was released as a feature from M79.
Mostly that setting might have been turned on automatically after the update due to Safe browsing option is turned on.

Thanks that was an annoying feature.

Thanks for that cure! SUch an annoying, unnecessary BS feature because all it does is check if you have the same password on different sites, F all to do with data breaches.

Is there any hidden logic which will turn it back?

I have disable this annoying feature before, and suddenly the popup comes again, and I go to check the google setting, it has been enabled again.

I'm sure I have not touch this feature after I have disabled it, is there any hidden logic which will turn it on again automatically?

Hoping that there will have an option for user to disable all such annoying feature forever.

There are no such intention to override your settings.
Sometimes(very rarely) updating chrome "may" turn on some setting(happened for me once long back) but this instance is very rare and may not happen at all.

I found this setting in another place:
Chrome settings > section Privacy and security > Subsection More > Slider Warn you if passwords are exposed in a data breach

I do like the option but as a developer, some of our seed data for testing uses things like the word password as a password so it would be nice to have a filter to not prompt for specific passwords or user password combos or a better option, site filters.
