When I search something in Google Chrome like a movie title it brings up a blank gray screen 1 Recommended Answer 18 Replies 30 Upvotes

When I was searching High School Musical on Google today a big gray screen popped up covering the top websites. I tried reinstalling Google Chrome, disabling Hardware Acceleration, etc. Here is a picture.
It tells me my location and everything that you would normally see on the bottom of a search. It only does this with certain searches. I have no idea how to fix it. If anyone has an idea on how to fix this, it would be much appreciated!

I was having the problem for several days. I tried fixes that didn't work. I finally fixed it by going into "Settings" "Advanced" "System" and selecting "Restore settings to the original defaults".

I restored the settings to original and it fixed it for about one minute then it started doing it again.

It definitely is related to my Google sign in. Every time I sign back in after resetting the browser, the problem returns. I have no idea what in my Google sign in is causing it.
