I have tried to go into volume mixer and unmute chrome but it wasn't muted. When i open chrome, go into youtube and watch a video it work perfectly, but, let's say i want to watch another video, i click on it and i watch it. The only thing is I don't have sound on the second video. So basically the problem is: The first video i watch has sound but not the rest. This only happens in chrome. I tried Microsoft Edge and it worked.

The problem started when i plugged in my new headphones

I have the same problem and have tried everything within my limited capabilities.
I uninstall Chrome, use IE until I can't stand it then reinstall Chrome. I have audio for about ten minutes and then it's gone. This has been going on for over a week.

Same exact thing for me except for that the volume doesn't even come in the first place. I've done every suggested thing and even completely wiped and redownloaded my Chrome but its still broken.

I have the exact same problem, I gave up trying to fix it and used Edge for a while but I wish I knew the solution to this. Hopefully this thread gets updated with a fix, but til then I guess I'm going back to Edge again. :(

I have the same issue using FX Sound - when I turn that off, sound comes through Chrome just fine (and I may have just burst an eardrum verifying it ... Yeouch.)

Been having the same problem as of a week or so now, finally found the solution. If you go to your task bar and click "Open Sound Settings" on Windows 10, You might notice your output device is blank instead of being set to whatever Headset or Speakers you regularly use. Change it back to your default device and that should fix the problem for you! Hope this helps out, I know I struggled to find answers online.

No solution actually works, can I make a suggestion?

I believe that the issue is because Chrome tries to push audio through the output only when there's a video or audio playing, then it disconnects when you pause it or change a YouTube video to another, that's when it tries to connect again to the output and the issue happens

All other apps are there on the volume mixer whether it's playing audio or not that's why I suppose that there's no issues with other apps, only Chrome and honestly this is getting frustrating to the point that I'm thinking about switching browsers and I don't want to :(((

please fix it guys, or at least try to make Chrome connected with the sound output all the time so we don't face any issues. :(
