Can no longer create a desktop shortcut of Chrome itself.

I accidentally deleted my Chrome desktop shortcut. When I open a new tab and click the 3 dots menu, the option for Create Shortcut is greyed out. All other website have that option available. Only Chrome itself is greyed out. I am not using incognito mode. Been pecking around for days trying to problem solve this. If you have any insight or suggestions I'd really appreciate the help.
Thanks in advance,
Shamey

Hi Shamey,
What you described is to create a shortcut to a specific website, and when you're opening a new tab - because that's not a website - the create shortcut disabled.

To re-create Chrome shortcut - follow below steps:
  1. Open the profile you want to create a shortcut for, by clicking your photo or initials at the top right, then select the profile to launch it.
  2. Click the 3 dot menu at the top right of Chrome.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Click Customize your Chrome profile.
  5. Scroll down and click the Create desktop shortcut toggle.

No this is not the issue. I can create desktop shortcuts for anything except the homepage for Chrome itself. Any other website or file has the create shortcut available in the three dots menu. However, when I open a new Chrome tab and try to create the Chrome desktop shortcut, meaning when I open my computer and pull up my Windows desktop, there is no longer a chrome shortcut on it and I can no longer create one for it because it is grayed out in the options on the  three dot menu in that new Google Chrome tab. But thanks for trying!

Based on what you said below - this is the right help article to set it up - the homepage & startup page whenever you're opening Chrome - and for this one - you don't need a shortcut, just set it up & run Chrome and it will show up.
