"This extension violates the Chrome Web Store policy." error after I published a new version.

Hello,

Recently our company's Chrome extension was flagged for Purple Potassium (requesting tabs permission when it wasn't required). We updated the extension, submitted for review, and the new version was approved and published.

However, even after installing the new extension, Chrome will eventually (after a few minutes) disable the extension again with the "This extension violates the Chrome Web Store policy." error.

Does anyone know how or why this happens?

To solve the issue report it to Chrome Web Store support.
It will take a couple of weeks, but they will resolve it.

It helped in my case.

I have the same problem. The extension has been reinstated yesterday. No code changes only updated the privacy policy link. It is back in the store, but the error: "This extension violates the Chrome Web Store policy." appears again.

You posted this 5 days ago.
Do you still have this issue?

Same issue. No code changes, only description and privacy policy link updated and resubmited. Application is now in the store with no errors and users can install and use it, but after several minutes message "This extension violates the Chrome Web Store policy." appears again.

Any update / solution?

Since I posted 3 days ago nothing has changed. The issue still exists.

Same issue.

We created a new release for our extension and submitted it. It has been approved after some hours and we installed the new version from Chrome store.

After some minutes, it has been disabled by Chrome.

After 10 days the problem has solved itself. The plugin is no longer marked as malicious and the new version is stable.
