"Add to home screen" option missing from Chrome

I have just bought a new phone running Android 11. I want to bookmark some pages in Chrome and add them to my home screen, but the option is missing from the menu. It was there on my old phone running a much earlier version of Android.
I am able to place the bookmarks on a widget, but the widget takes up too much space, it's about the size of 9 normal home screen icons, so that is not an acceptable solution. I need to place a single normal-sized icon on the home screen for each bookmark.
How do I access the option please?

Hi Leeson,

Currently "Add to home screen" option removed in latest version of Google Chrome. You need to click on three dot at upper-right corner of Chrome and need to click on "Star" symbol to bookmark any website. You can get all your bookmark in "bookmarks" section in the drop down list. Most visited sites are displayed in the homescreen.
