Zoom at 100% was previously OK but now you must set at 80% to see our FULL eBay listing description?

We can only see the FULL eBay listing description, if you reduce the zoom to 80% level. If you try to increase zoom to 90 or 100%, you can then ONLY see half the page

I can force a black box to appear by toggling the iframe height to 4097 or greater on an eBay listing.

It would appear to be part of a recent update because I've not had this issue on the same listings since they were created over a year ago.  Also, since 4096 is a binary number I suspect it's some sort of upper limit on iframe height.

Version 76.0.3809.100 (Official Build) (64-bit) on Ubuntu Linux

Some eBay listings have started to show a solid black box in place of the listing description. It is more common the higher the zoom level, as that increases the relative iframe height.  This issue does not show in Firefox or earlier versions of Chrome.

This
<iframe id="desc_ifr" class="" height="4096" width="1364" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" frameborder="0" src="https://vi.vipr.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemDescV4&amp;item=173416017179&amp;t=1566787011000&amp;tid=10&amp;category=46708&amp;seller=fixintoscrap&amp;excSoj=1&amp;excTrk=1&amp;lsite=0&amp;ittenable=true&amp;domain=ebay.com&amp;descgauge=1&amp;cspheader=1&amp;oneClk=1&amp;secureDesc=1" title="Seller's description of item"></iframe>

Thanks @the Core

Yes, it does seem Chrome 77 beta is working, based on earlier eBay user observations.

However, my posts are mostly to confirm if a fix was part of a known issue and patch to avoid a future regression if this issue is inadvertently sneaking in and out of the code base.

Attached is a screenshot from Incognito mode. I had to set the zoom to 150% to get this, but that's mainly because I updated this eBay listing to work around the issue for lower zoom levels.

The core of the issue seems to be iframe height of 4097 or more, whether that's an absolute >= 4097 or a relative height based on a zoom level over 100%.

Thanks again "the Core".

Experiencing this black box covering long eBay listing descriptions in a Chrome or Chromium-based version 76 browser? Vote it up by logging into the Chromium bug site clicking the "Star" icon in the top-left.  DO NOT GO TO THE BUG SITE AND POST ABOUT HOW MUCH MONEY YOU ARE LOSING OR WHY THEY "NEED TO FIX THIS ASAP".  In many cases the developers on these projects are volunteers and will not respond well to whining.  Instead, simply clicking the star icon will cast your vote on the concern without igniting a storm of useless banter.

I was having a problem with my description area showing as black also after doing some revisions on one of my auctions...after reading these messages  I went in and condensed the description and took a few sentences off as it was quite long...that worked and the black screen went away and the description is back to normal now....hope this helps :)

sorry Core but none of your answers solve the problem for the millions of Chrome ebay users who are quite literally "in the dark".  This issue does not exist on Safari or Firefox.  We anxiously await a real fix by Chrome because your solutions are "one off" for individual users.  Everything was fine until a few weeks ago surely it can be fixed at your end

@the Core
Users on the eBay forums have suggested Chrome 77 beta does not have the issue, just the more recent Chrome 76.

I guess the best we can hope is that gets pushed soon and the issue doesn't regress.  Though, it would be nice to hear from the Chromium team that the issue is understood and whatever fixed it in 77 beta is a permanent fix.

Thanks again for your efforts.

@the Core  Thanks. I've been following the chatter on the Chromium bug thread.

I'm on Ubuntu and I don't think it supports Canary builds so I'm not going to be much help.

Is there a simple set of instructions for the average Windows 10 user to follow on installing Canary, temporarily?  I could post on the eBay forum, but I don't want to encourage too many non-technical people to install a bleeding-edge browser and then never revert to stable.

same problem with chrome Version 77.0.3865.75 (Official Build) (64-bit).

as my eBay item web page, the window.innerHeight is 19000px, then the web page only show half of it.
