Whenever I open chrome there is a bar at the top saying "Flash player will no longer be supported after December 2020" with a blue box to turn off flash. I'm not sure how to get rid of the popup without removing flash, since it will still work for over a year. Any suggestions?

I agree. I understood the pop up the first 100 times. Needs option to "never show again"

Hi there,

If you disable the Adobe Flash, then it will show not this notification bar (on startup of your Google Chrome web browser).

Thanks,
Stefan

I agree, and am trying to find a way to disable it as well.  I visit a site where I routinely use Flash so I don't want to disable it, but I keep getting that annoying pop-up everytime.  Google is worse than most porn sites with their pop-ups.  I have a year and a half to deal with this popup???? I have never heard of anything so dumb.

Stefan,

Flash is still being used by many legacy applications, including certain educational applications that are used in colleges and school. This message needs to be disabled. We got the message. We still have more than a year.

I read the silly answer from and "expert" there and that expert doesnt know that until now, this day, hundreds places use flash and I need to have active all the time and that silly message its like the one about in 5000 mill years the sun go the eat the earth and find refugie now... Silly, it flash ending in dec 2020, that bar and message are logical a couple of months before not a year and half.
The question here from all of us is...
How to disable that nasty, silly, message bar???

Their "platinum level expert" doesn't seem to realize that:

1. I still need Flash for certain online textbooks that are required by a university I'm taking classes from
2. I can read. I don't need to see the message constantly. If I choose not to disable Flash, I should also choose not to see the message every time I start Chrome.

For such a modern company like Google to intentionally leave out the option to disable this invasive and annoying popup is ridiculous. Sure, it takes 2 seconds out of my life every day to click the X.....but it's the lack of consideration towards their users that annoys me.

Stefan vd, your answer did not address the question.  Considering you are touting yourself as a "Platinum Product Expert" you're doing a lousy job of it.  Simply put:

1. People do NOT want to deal with that idiotic warning banner for the next 16 months every time they open Chrome.

2.  People still need to use Flash for all the websites they go to which require it, so they do not want to disable Flash.

We want to disable the banner which pops up every time we open Chrome.

Your idiotic non-response will do nothing to make people more fond of Chrome and is more likely to drive them to Firefox or Opera because of how annoying the banner is (not to mention how annoying your "Platinum Product Expert" response is!).

If you are incapable of telling people how to disable ONLY THE BANNER, then quit trying to force your failure of a "solution" on everyone!

This is the third message board where this dumb ass "expert" has given the same answer. Get him outa here. No idea what he's talking and/or its a bot with a preprogrammed response. Do better google. I've been using Chrome since it came out years ago. The point of it was I could customize it the way I wanted. No longer. I hate having to actually consider going back to firefox. Guess we should expect this from a company that doesn't concern itself with honesty and integrity anymore.

I need a solution for this to preserve my mental health. Like many other have written, I need flash for the year that's left but I'm going to throw something out of the window if that ridiculous banner shows up every time I start chrome until then.

Apparently the Chrome v78 update will snooze the pop-up for 14 days. So you will only see it once every 14 days for the next year or so... Great job Google! :P
