Bookmark Manager is Not Showing My Bookmarks

Hi, in the last few days my chrome Bookmark Manager has stopped showing any bookmarks. The bookmarks are still available in the bookmark bar but when I open the bookmark manager I can't search or use the menu to export it to an HTML file, the menu won't even drop down, it's just a thin white box. I have tried restarting the browser, my computer, I've cleared the cache data (I think), I've tried turning the sync off and on again and signing out of my account. I'm wondering if rolling back to the last version of chrome will help or if I have to reinstall it completely. I would rather not because the last version I have is several days/weeks ago and I might lose a lot of links. If anyone could tell me why this is happening and any possible solutions it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If you have deleted or accidentally deleted the bookmarks files, the bookmarks will not be found but you sync with your device's account.

                Sign in and turn on sync

To turn on sync, you'll need a Google Account.
  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click Profile .
  3. Sign in to your Google Account.
  4. If you want to sync your info across all your devices, click Turn on sync Turn on.
If you want to sync more than one account or you share your computer with others, learn how to add a profile in Chrome.

Hi, so I tried what was recommended and sync is on but it didn't help. I'm also not sure the advice really applies to my issue. The suggested solution is for deleted bookmark files but mine aren't deleted, they are all still there and I can access them on the bookmark bar but Bookmark Manager specifically is not working. Nothing populates when it is opened and I can't use the search bar within the program to search my bookmarks. It's sort of like the Bookmark Manager program can't access the files but other programs can. I hope that clears up the confusion over what I was asking. Thanks.

I dont think that the  "expert" understands the problem. I am having the exact same problem as the original poster.

I  recently updated Chromium, and ever since then the bookmark manager  itself has been blank. IT IS NOT JUST A MATTER OF MISSING BOOKMARKS, there are no usable controls in the bookmark manager, its a blank sheet.

For the record to assure that I am being abundantly clear. My Bookmarks toolbar has plenty of bookmarks in it, they just are not showing up  in the bookmark manager.  I wish to export the bookmarks that are currently in my bookmark toolbar, to an bookmarks.html file, just as I have been doing for the past 15 years. But this latest update of chromium will not allow me to export due to the bookmark manager being a completely blank page

Chromium version 93.0.4577.82

I do NOT want to "synch".     I do not want to provide info about any other  device. I just want to export the bookmarks presently in my browser to a local file to be archived.
